چکیده
Abstract Blasting performance is influenced by mechanical and structural properties of the rock, on one side, blast design parameters other. This paper describes a new methodology to assess rock mass quality from drill-monitoring data guide blasting in open pit operations. Principal component analysis has been used combine measurement while drilling (MWD) information two drill rigs; corrections MWD minimize external influences other than have applied. First, Structural factor developed classify condition three classes (massive, fractured heavily fractured). From it, block model simplify recognition classes. Video recording inner wall 256 blastholes calibrate results obtained. Secondly, combined strength-grade obtained based type description strength geology reports, assaying chips (ore/waste identification) 3D unmanned aerial vehicle reconstructions post-blast bench face. Data 302 blastholes, comprised 26 blasts, for this analysis. results, four categories identified: soft-waste, hard-waste, transition zone hard-ore. The determines zones soft hard waste (schisted sandstone limestone, respectively), ore (siderite type). Finally, with an overall factor. factor, exclusively monitoring data, can provide automatic assessment structure, strength, waste/ore identification.

Risk Averse Approaches in Open-pit Production Planning under Ore Grade Uncertainty: a Ultimate Pit Study
During early phases of open-pit mining production planning many parameters are uncertain, and since the mining operation is performed only once, any evaluations based only on on average outcomes neglects the very real chance of obtaining an outcome that is below average. Taking into account also that operation costs are considerable and the mining horizon usually extends over several decades it...
متن کاملScheduling in iron ore open-pit mining
During the last few years, most production-based businesses have been under enormous pressure to improve their top-line growth and bottom-line savings. As a result, many companies are turning to systems and technologies that can help optimise their supply chain activities. In this paper, we discuss a real-world application of scheduling in the mining industry. This is a highly constrained probl...
متن کاملOptimizing Open Pit Block Scheduling with Exposed Ore Reserve
A crucial problem in the mining industry is to determine the optimal sequence of extraction of blocks, in which the mine has been structured for exploitation. Typically a mine can be constituted by several thousands or millions of blocks. The sequencing models for this structure are very complex giving rise to very large combinatorial linear models. Operational mine plans are usually produced o...
متن کاملAnalyzing the effect of ore grade uncertainty in open pit mine planning; A case study of Rezvan iron mine, Iran
Due to uncertain nature of grade in ore deposits, considering uncertainty is inevitable in geological modelling of resources and mine planning. In other words, uncertainty in grade of mineralized materials, is one of the most significant parameters need attention in mine planning. In this paper, a comparative procedure utilizing Sequential Gaussian Simulation (SGS) and traditional Ordinary Krig...
متن کاملAn Uncertainty-based Transition from Open Pit to Underground Mining
There are some large scale orebodies that extend from surface to the extreme depths of the ground. Such orebodies should be extracted by a combination of surface and underground mining methods. Economically, it is highly important to know the limit of upper and lower mining activities. This concern leads the mine designers to the transition problem, which is one of the most complicated problems...
